Course Details
GENERAL ENGLISH
This course is designed to improve your ability to understand, speak, read and write in English and caters for all levels, from zero beginner to post-proficiency.
ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS
This course is designed to improve your ability to understand, speak, read and write in English for business purposes. It is based on business activities - Advertising/Marketing, Negotiations, Meetings, Insurance, Presentations, Finance and more. Anyone wishing to attend this course should have completed a General English course to Intermediate level.
ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES
This course is designed for anyone who has completed a General English course to Intermediate level and ensures that students reach the appropriate level in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) framework essential, for admission to a British University. The faculty or college determines the level required to follow a course.
ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES
This course is specifically created to meet the needs of an individual or a closed group with the same needs.
HOLIDAY / VACATION / LONDON LEARNING EXPERIENCE (LLE) COURSES
The London Learning Experience [LLE] course is a trusted and high quality holiday programme - for groups of adults or children. A group is a minimum of 10 persons/students. Individual students are welcome to join existing groups.
The London Learning Experience combines language tuition with cultural visits, sightseeing and enjoyment. It is suitable for groups - children of similar ages (minimum age 11), or adults (age 17 and above). Responsible monitors supervise activities outside the classroom. The LLE programme includes:

EXAMINATION PREPARATION
These courses are designed to enable students to reach the level necessary to pass any of the following examinations in English:.
Cambridge ESOL Mainsuite examinations take place in December, March, June and August.

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) C2 / ALTE* level 5
A University of Cambridge ESOL examination, at the highest level for those hoping to become teachers of English or wishing to follow an academic course at a university in the United Kingdom.
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) C1 / ALTE* level 4
A University of Cambridge ESOL examination, at Advanced level, recognised as the qualification necessary for IT, industry, business and commerce.
First Certificate in English (FCE) B2 / ALTE* level 3
A widely recognised University of Cambridge ESOL examination, at Upper Intermediate level.
Preliminary English Test (PET) B1 /ALTE* level 2
A University of Cambridge ESOL examination, taken after completing a General English course at Intermediate level.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
An examination that is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP Education Australia (IELTS Australia), for students wishing to attend universities and colleges of tertiary education.
Examinations in Spoken English
Trinity College London Oral Examinations at 12 levels.
Business English Certificate (BEC)
University of Cambridge ESOL examinations at Preliminary, Vantage and Higher levels.
Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)
A University of Cambridge test of professional knowledge about the teaching of English to Speakers Of Other Languages. TKT does not test teaching ability or a teacher’s language proficiency.
LINGUACENTRE is an authorised internal centre for the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT).

TEACHING KNOWLEDGE TEST (TKT)
Prospective candidates may be native English speakers or speakers of any other language. The minimum level of English necessary for TKT candidates is Intermediate plus / IELTS band score of 4.5. Candidates will observe experienced teachers of classes at various levels.
Candidates may already be teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners anywhere in the world. An experienced native English speaking teacher of other subjects or a non-native speaker with Proficiency pass level, is recommended to apply for 2 weeks; other candidates are advised to take a 4-week course. Some pre-course studying is recommended.

Candidates will join the teaching team and be guided by a fully qualified teacher. Candidates will observe experienced teachers of classes at various levels.
The University of Cambridge examination board require 6 weeks notice of intention to sit any module/s.
Preparing a lesson
* Part-Time courses are not available to those who require a visa to enter the United Kingdom to study. Part-time students must attend on the day/s that the relevant class is scheduled to run.

learn at LINGUACENTRE and let us know your aims and aspirations. Our standard GENERAL ENGLISH (GE) is - three hours per day, Monday to Friday, commencing at 09:45 or 13:45 hours.
You can attend Part-Time GE (see*) in the morning or the afternoon or you can follow a Semi-Intensive course, which combines a 15 hr morning GE course with 3 afternoons - total 24 hours per week.
We also offer one-to-one private lessons on an hourly basis and closed group lessons - a private class for your group.
LINGUACENTRE OUTREACH PROGRAMME
Tailor-made linguistic and/or cultural short courses are run either in-house or on the client's premises. Subjects available include lecturers and seminars on art and design, architecture, popular culture and English Literature.
