TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
  1.  DEFINITIONS
1.1 Amount refunded - the amount given back to the applicant or student after deducting non-refundable and cancellation/termination fees.
1.2 Applicant - the person wishing to study at the school or his/her representative.
1.3 Arrival date at host family - the day on which the applicant is scheduled to begin his/her stay with the host family.
1.4 Course start date - the day the applicant or student has chosen to start studying.
1.5 Documentary Evidence - a letter from a professional organisation to support your request e.g. a letter from a doctor or a hospital.
1.6 Latest cancellation date - the last day on which a request to cancel a course will be accepted by the school.
1.7 Non-refundable fees - these are fees paid for services already provided. For example, admission/registration, accommodation arrangement, special post, fees for the number of weeks which have elapsed since the course start date, accommodation provided including the required notice period. Accommodation which has been booked and not cancelled in time is also not refundable.

School - LINGUACENTRE Limited: the course provider.
1.9
Student - the person studying at the school or whose course has already started and no notice of a delay had been given to and accepted by the school.
2.  APPLICATION
2.1
Applicants requiring a visa - permission to enter the United Kingdom (UK) - are advised to contact the British Embassy in their country for advice on visa applications before making an application to study at the school.
2.2
Applicants must ensure that their application reaches the school as early as possible.
2.3 Applicants may need to buy their own course books. These can be purchased from the school’s office. LINGUACENTRE adheres to the Copyright Licensing guidelines.
2.4
The school will not make a reduction in fees for public holidays.
2.5
The school will transfer course fees to another applicant, student or organisation only after receiving adequate documentary evidence to support a cancellation request. The school reserves the right to refuse requests which it considers unreasonable.
3.  PROLONGATIONS
3.1
Applicants or students may continue studying at the school for further periods as required.
3.2 Applicants may increase the duration of the course before the latest cancellation date but must pay the fees applicable for the additional weeks - not the difference between the fee for the total number of weeks - including the extension - and the original number of weeks booked.
4.  CANCELLATIONS
4.1
Applicants or students wishing to cancel a course for any reason must submit a request - in writing - to the school at least five working days before the planned leaving date. The school may request and expect you to obtain documentary evidence e.g. a letter from a qualified medical professional to support your request.
4.2
Applicants or students wishing to cancel a course because the British Authorities refused to grant permission to enter/remain in the UK and after all available appeal procedures have been exhausted must request a cancellation - in writing - within five working days of receiving the refusal. The applicant or student must then post the following documents to the school before a refund is considered:
   4.2.1       The original Letter of Refusal from the British Embassy or Home Office.
   4.2.2       The original Letter of Acceptance from the school.
   4.2.3       If applicable, a letter authorising the school to pay the refund to someone else.
4.3
Students wishing to terminate a course before its planned completion date must give the school five working days notice of termination in writing. The school reserves the right to refuse such a request if no documentary evidence is provided or if it feels the request is unreasonable.
4.4
The school reserves the right to cancel or alter a course, its tutor and its scheduled time and will, at its discretion, offer either an alternative course or a refund.
 
5.  REFUNDS
5.1
Refunds of less than 5.00 GB Pounds will not be made.
5.2
Refunds will not be made if permission to enter/stay in the UK was granted except where the British Authorities have withdrawn that permission and the applicant or student has provided written confirmation of this.
5.3
The amount refunded to applicants or students is the Amount Received minus non-refundable fees minus a cancellation fee of 100.00 GB Pounds. See 5.1 above.
5.4
The amount refunded to applicants or students if the school is forced to cancel a course is the amount paid minus non-refundable fees. See 5.1 above.
5.5
Students will not get a refund for unapproved absences due to sickness, accidents, misconduct or unsatisfactory work.
6.  ATTENDANCE AND CONDUCT
6.1
Students must book holidays at the office - not with their teacher - at least five working days in advance. Students attending a holiday/summer course will not get a holiday. Students on full-time, semi-intensive or intensive courses will be entitled to the following holidays: 
   If the total period booked in an academic year is       less than 04 weeks     -  entitlement is 00 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is between 04 and 07 weeks - entitlement is 02 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is between 08 and 11 weeks - entitlement is 05 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is between 12 and 23 weeks - entitlement is 10 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is between 24 and 35 weeks - entitlement is 20 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is between 36 and 47 weeks - entitlement is 30 school days.
   If the total period booked in an academic year is        48 weeks and above   - entitlement is  35 school days.

  Part-time students will be entitled to holidays proportional to the number of days they have chosen to study per week.
6.2
Absences which have not been properly reported will not be refunded or compensated for in any way.
6.3
Students are required to attend their classes regularly and on time. It is unfair to disrupt the teacher and their fellow students.
6.4The school reserves the right to refuse admission to any student or to dismiss any student for misconduct or unsatisfactory work. No refund will be made in these circumstances.
7.  LIABILITY
7.1
In the case of a compensation claim against the school, its liability is limited to the amount received less costs for services provided.
7.2
Applicants and students - especially juniors - should obtain adequate insurance cover for the duration of their studies. Insurance should be obtained for ill-health, accidental damage and personal loss whilst in the UK.
7.3
The school accepts no responsibility for any losses resulting from delays, accidents or medical problems.
8.  DATA PROTECTION
8.1
Whilst studying at the school, applicants and students are responsible for giving accurate and up-to-date information about addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contact details in the UK and their home country.
8.2
The school will collect and maintain your personal information lawfully and fairly and in accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act. This information will be protected against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure and copying. It will not be given to any third party except those legally authorised to obtain it.
8.3
Applicants and students agree that the school can keep records about their studies on its computer systems. The information will be confidential and will not be sold, traded, or rented to any other party or parties. The school will use your information for the following purposes:
   8.3.1.      to process your application and administer your course.
   8.3.2       to provide you with the best possible service whilst you are a student at the school.
   8.3.3       to tell you about our promotions and new products.
   8.3.4       to provide data for statistical analysis (no personal data will be divulged in these cases).
